Annual Conference 2010 - Cleft and Beyond

Information for Presenters

A. Verbal Presentations

  1. Verbal presentations from delegates will be strictly 7 minutes, plus 5 minutes questions.
  2. All lectures should be in PowerPoint.
  3. PowerPoint presentations may be emailed directly to the Saville Audio Visual, richard.nield@saville.co.uk, tel 0151 707 6577. On receipt, the technician will check that the talk opens and runs and will liaise directly with the speaker if there are any problems. A backup should be taken to the conference on memory stick; Or
    Alternatively, presenters should save their presentation to a memory stick and their presentation can be loaded on to the system preferably by 8.30am on the day of presentation.
  4. There is full AV and technical support available throughout the conference from 8am each day.
  5. Should you have any queries relating to your presentation, please contact Richard Neild on 0151 707 6577.
  6. Video Components
    Please ensure that if your presentation has a video within a PowerPoint presentation that it is attached correctly and checked either before sending or saving onto a memory stick.

B. Poster Presentations

  1. Posters will be on display on Thursday and Friday (9:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m).
  2. Posters should be erected from 8:00 a.m. - 8:45 a.m.
  3. Posters must be no larger than 2m x 1m and PORTRAIT ORIENTATION.
  4. Please bring A4 printed handouts of your poster for distribution.
  5. Posters with Verbal Presentation
    On Friday 26th March, from 8:35 -9:00 a.m., seven of the poster presentations will be introduced with a three-minute talk each (see below).

C. Guidance for Poster Presenters giving 3-minute verbal presentations on Friday morning

  1. Seven of the poster presentations will be invited to give a 3-minute introductory talk at 8:35 a.m. - 9:00 a.m. on Friday in the Lecture Theatre. This will be strictly kept to time and should include two slides only.
    • Slide 1 should contain the Title and Aim of your presentation.
    • Slide 2 should contain Conclusions only.
  2. Posters will be allocated a number which will guide you to your allocated display board. Those giving a verbal presentation will have numbers 1-7 and the verbal presentation will be in that order.

D. Slides/videos for Presenters at Craniofacial conference

Please be advised of the following:

PowerPoint Presentations emailed to Richard Nield at Saville Liverpool need to have the following information:

  1. Save Presentation with the Presenters name, Time of Presentation and Date.
  2. If you are presenting in the Canada, Brunswick, Harrington, Salisbury. Please bring your presentations on a USB stick or a CD drive.
  3. If video is embedded with in the presentation please advise Richard Nield before email. (you may need to bring on USB stick or CD to the Conference)
  4. If the video is on a separate disc I.E DVD please advise what type of video format this is (DVD,DIVEX,MPEG Windows Media Player)
  5. If you are planning on bringing your presentation with PowerPoint and Video embedded on Disc or CD please test the disc that the video has been transferred correctly.
  6. If you have any other Presentation player E.G PDF or Flash please advise.
  7. Please advise if you are using PowerPoint 2003 or different.
  8. If you are a Macintosh user please save fore use with in Windows, Microsoft format.
